  • HPV stands for Human Papilloma Virus
  • Genital warts are also known as HPV Warts
  • There is currently no known cure for the HPV virus, this doesn’t mean that you will constantly have warts it just means you will constantly have the virus that causes the warts but it can stay inactive in your system and you wouldn’t have any symptoms at this time.

What Are Genital Warts and The HPV Virus?

  • Genital Warts are one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases and they are caused by the HPV Virus
  • HPV stands for Human Papilloma Virus
  • Personal warts are also known as HPV Warts
  • There is currently no known cure for the HPV virus, this doesn’t mean that you will constantly have warts it just means you will constantly have the virus that causes the warts but it can stay inactive in your system and you wouldn’t have any symptoms at this time.

How do I know If I Have Genital Warts?

  • They usually appear in the genital area as a small bump or sometimes groups of bumps.
  • Size can differ from small to large and they can be raised or flat.
  • You often hear people say they are shaped like a cauliflower.
  • They can be flesh color or grey
  • They can also appear in the anus and rarely in the mouth or throat (this is normally following sexual contact in these areas)
  • If you are unsure your Health care providers can diagnose your warts during a genital examination

How did I get Genital Warts?

  • The HPV virus would have been passed on following sexual contact with someone that already has the HPV virus.
  • It is highly contagious so if you have had unprotected sex with that person it was nearly inevitable that you would develop the HPV virus.
  • The HPV virus could have been laying dormant in your system for some time without you even knowing you had it.
  • Sometimes the warts don’t appear until weeks or even years after you first caught the HPV virus.
  • It is really important that you always practice safe sex to reduce the risk of passing this condition on to someone else.

How do I treat Genital Warts?

There are various treatment options out there and you need to decide what one is going to suit you best.

You could go to your local health professional who could provide the following treatments:

  • Surgical removal of the warts
  • Electrosurgery which involves burning of the actual warts with a medical iron
  • Cryotherapy treatment which involves freezing of the warts
  • Your health professional may be able to advise you about other options.

Your other option is to purchase a home remedy for genital warts. There are many available on today’s market. Personally, I would advise the following precautions when ordering over the counter or online:

  • Only use a well known brand that you can trust. This way you know by their reputation that it is used by many satisfied customers.
  • I only use actual medication if it is prescribed by a doctor so I would always suggest you get a homeopathic product that only uses 100% natural ingredients. That way you know you are not adding unknown chemicals to your body.
  • These homeopathic products are generally very easy to use and come in spray or liquid form so there is no pain involved in the treatment at all. The ingredients of the product create a reaction in your immune system so that your own immune system works alongside the product to erradicate the warts.

How Do I Know That Treatment Is Safe?

  • Doctor Treatment – As with all medication, there are potential side effects but your health professional will be in the best position to advise you
  • Surgery – Any form of surgery including electrosurgery could leave scars or damaged tissue on the genital area. This can be a particular problem if you have to get repeated treatment due to the warts coming back. Again, your health professional would be in the best position to advise you.
  • Home Treatments – If you use a homeopathic treatment I wouldn’t think there should be any negative side effects as all ingredients would be natural, however, some people find they are more immune to treatment than others so they may need to apply the spray for longer.
  • If you are using a home treatment for genital warts, I recommend you check out the customer reviews, this will give you a good idea of customer satisfaction.
  • As I said previously, I wouldn’t advise going with an unknown company for any of the home remedies. Pick a big name such as Wartamine or Wartrol and you can then rely on their good reputation.

How Quick Can I Get Treatment?

  • The most common reaction people have when they find out they have genital warts is that they want to get treated as soon as possible to get rid of the warts.
  • Contact your health professional and you could be sat in their office within a few short days.
  • Order a home treatment and it could be sent out to you as quickly as today.
  • No matter which treatment you choose, please don’t delay as genital warts can cause serious complications (including nasty blockages) if they are left untreated.

Why Do Some People Choose To Order Treatment Online Rather Than Go To Their Doctor?

  • Some people don’t like the thought of surgery
  • Some people are embarrassed to speak to their doctor about a sexually transmitted infection
  • Some people don’t have health insurance and simply can’t afford the treatment.
  • Others have insurance but it is not adequate to cover the costs involved (for example their insurance may be $100-$300 per month and a visit to the doctor could be $100-$200 and if the doctor wants to do a procedure such as laser surgery that could be an additional $200-$400)
  • As there is no known cure for the HPV Virus some people find that when they are diagnosed with the condition it increases their insurance premiums that is why they choose not to involve their health professional
  • Some people would rather use products with natural ingredients rather than using medication or surgery

Can HPV Warts Give You Cancer?

  • Firstly, I’m not medically trained so I can’t give you all the information on how HPV and Cancer are related however it is my understanding that there are some strains of the HPV virus that can cause cervical cancer so it is vital that you attend regular pap screenings.
  • If you any concerns relating to HPV and cancer you should speak to your health professional.
  • Also, if you are pregnant it is vital that you speak to your health professional as the HPV virus can cause complications with your pregnancy that you need to address.

Will The Warts Come Back?

  • It is easy enough to treat the actual warts but unfortunately there is still no known cure for the HPV Virus so “yes” they could come back.
  • Some people’s own immune systems tend to keep them at bay so they may not re-appear at all or there could be years between visits. Each persons immune system tackles the warts differently.
  • Some people get genital warts regularly and that is why it is so important to find a treatment that you are comfortable with and to try and increase your knowledge of this condition.

Will The Warts Go Away On Their Own Without Treatment?

  • The HPV Virus tends to be heavily related to your immune system so there have been known cases where your own immune system will attack the warts and they will go away but this is certainly not the norm.
  • It is best to get treatment as soon as you can as if left untreated, the genital warts can cause all sorts of problems such as blockages in intimate areas.
  • If you leave the warts and your condition worsens, it could be more difficult to treat.

Are you plagued with warts? They run in many families, leaving you with an unsightly raised bump on your skin. They can also be quite irritating. The downside to warts is that they cannot be cured, only treated. While you may get rid of it for a few months or years, there is always a risk they will come back. There are some great treatments that can help you get rid of a wart as soon as it appears. Follow these tips to find out how to manage your problem with warts:

  • Give it time. A wart usually starts out small and it can easily go away in a few days. Try the “wait and see” method before you take a knife to your skin. If the wart starts to grow, you may want to move onto a different treatment option.
  • Wart removal acid. Salicylic acid is sold at just about any retail store in the health section. This acid will need to be applied directly to the wart. For the wart to die, you need to kill the seed of the wart. This is found directly in the middle of the wart. Use nail clippers and nail files to gently remove the top layer of skin before applying the salicylic acid. Then, cover the wart with a tight bandage and allow the acid to eat away at the wart. Castor oil is another method that works quite effectively at removing a wart.
  • Burn the wart off. Visit your doctor and discuss burning the wart off. They will use liquid nitrogen or a laser to remove it. If the wart is stubborn, they may end up using a surgical knife to cut it out of your skin.

After removing the wart, your skin will be sensitive and it may be quite dry. Use lotions and creams on the skin to restore moisture to the skin and to help improve its elasticity. You can find great lotion samples here: http://www.freemakeupandbeautysamples.com/.
